Cardano tapped by Brazil's Petrobras for pilot tracking clean fuel carbon footprint

PANews reported on September 30, citing CoinDesk, that Brazil's state-owned energy company Petrobras is testing the Cardano blockchain for two research projects tracking environmental claims for low-carbon fuels. One targets sustainable aviation fuel, recording the attribution and timing of environmental benefit claims to avoid double-counting carbon reductions; the other targets Diesel R, a diesel made from renewable materials, recording data on production, transportation and use to help companies tally indirect carbon emissions across their supply chains. Both projects are still in the research phase, with no timeline for rollout disclosed.
