Exodus Reports 20% Increase in Crypto Swap Volume to $377 Million in August

Exodus Movement, a self-custody wallet company, announced a significant increase in its crypto swap volume for August, reaching $376.8 million. This figure marks a 20% rise from the $314.8 million recorded in July, indicating a notable acceleration in trading activity on the platform, which operates in a competitive segment of the cryptocurrency market.

Despite the increase in trading volume, the number of monthly active users remained stable at 1.4 million, suggesting that existing customers are engaging in more transactions rather than attracting new users. The company's payments segment also saw growth, with gross transaction volume hitting $356.8 million, up approximately 6% from July and nearly 18% since June.

CFO James Gernetzke expressed optimism about the exchange volume trends but cautioned against interpreting one month of strong data as a definitive trend. Notably, 23% of the total exchange volume in August came from partners of XO Swap, consistent with the previous month. The growth in the payments segment is partly attributed to the integration of Monavate, a payments business acquired by Exodus, aimed at reducing costs and enhancing customer experience.
