HANetf Introduces First Euro-Hedged Bitcoin ETP in Europe

HANetf has launched the Arrow Bitcoin EUR Hedged Exchange-Traded Commodity (ETC), marking the first euro-hedged Bitcoin product available to investors in Europe. This new offering, which trades under the ticker EBTC, is listed on Euronext Paris and Xetra, providing euro-based investors with a way to gain exposure to Bitcoin without the complications of currency fluctuations between the euro and the dollar.

The Arrow Bitcoin EUR Hedged ETC began trading on September 29, 2026, on Euronext Paris, with trading on Xetra commencing the following day. The product features a total expense ratio of 49 basis points, along with a minor daily foreign exchange hedging cost, managed by HSBC. This structure aims to eliminate the volatility associated with EUR/USD exchange rates, allowing returns to closely mirror Bitcoin's dollar price when converted to euros.

The introduction of this euro-hedged product addresses a notable gap in the European market, where existing crypto ETCs, totaling approximately $12 billion in assets, have not previously offered currency hedging options. In contrast, euro-hedged gold ETCs have been established for years, amassing around $23 billion in assets. The launch of EBTC is seen as a response to increasing institutional interest in digital assets, as investors seek similar hedging tools for cryptocurrencies as they do for traditional assets.

With initial net assets of approximately €247,675, the EBTC is physically backed by Bitcoin and carries the ISIN XS3438606090. The competitive expense ratio and the bundled hedging solution are expected to simplify operations for investors, reinforcing the integration of cryptocurrencies within traditional financial systems. As more banks like HSBC engage in providing services for crypto products, the potential for euro-hedged Bitcoin offerings to capture a significant share of the market grows.
