XRP Price: Can Bulls Push XRP Above $1.60 This Week?

XRP this week is trading at around $1.50 at the time of writing, down 4.5% over the past seven days, and bulls now need to hold the $1.48-$1.50 area and also clear the $1.58-$1.60 XRP resistance level to send the token back above $1.60. The XRP price already tagged $1.6582 last week, so the XRP price prediction right now comes down to a fresh $1.60 retest or a slide toward $1.44-$1.45.

XRP This Week: Price Prediction, $1.60 Target And Key Resistance

XRP follows a big rally, and it was quite a move. The token climbed from a September 16 low near $1.2457 to $1.6582 on the two-hour Binance chart, a gain of roughly 33%. Over the last 24 hours, CoinGecko data shows the token moving between $1.47 and $1.56.

XRP Price Holds Above Former Resistance

The good part for XRP is that the token is still holding just above the $1.48-$1.49 region, the resistance level that capped it before the rally. A first selloff from above $1.60 dragged the price back toward the upper $1.40s, and then a second push toward $1.60 also failed to retake the $1.6582 high, which left a short-term series of lower highs.

The pullback came as remarks from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse circulated on X on September 24. Asked why someone should hold XRP over Solana for the next five years, Garlinghouse said:

“I’m not one of these people who’s an XRP maximalist, I’m bullish on a bunch of cryptos for a bunch of reasons.”

$1.48-$1.50 is the first support to watch, followed by $1.44-$1.45. On the upside, XRP needs to win back $1.55 first, and a clean break of the $1.60 level would put the $1.6582 high back in play.

Indicators Cool As XRP Ledger Ships An Emergency Fix

Indicators such as RSI, MACD and CCI show that momentum has cooled off quite a bit. Three RSI readings sit at around 39.27, 42.79 and 48.14, all under the neutral 50 mark, and MACD remains negative with the histogram near -0.0082.

XRP Ledger developers also pushed out xrpld 3.4.1, and the official XRPL release stated:

“This is an emergency release to fix security-sensitive issues in the XRPL protocol. This release introduces a new amendment, fixBatchV1_2, with the default vote set to “Yes”.”

XRP Ledger Operations had this to say on X:

“xrpld 3.4.1 is being released with a Batch fix and stability improvements. We’re asking validators and node operators to upgrade as soon as possible. There has been no impact to mainnet, and no loss of funds.”

The fix already has validator supermajority backing and should go live on October 9, but it is more of a network story than a direct catalyst for XRP.

The price prediction hinges on the $1.48-$1.50 zone. As long as it holds, a fresh $1.60 test stays on the table, with the $1.58-$1.60 band acting as the main XRP resistance level. Here is how things could play out:

If buyers defend the old resistance, XRP this week could build toward another shot at $1.60-$1.66. Losing $1.48 decisively, however, would drag the price back toward $1.44-$1.45.
