Drift: About $9.2 million of the stolen $295.4 million has been frozen, recovery still pending

PANews reported on September 30 that the Drift Foundation released an update on the recovery progress of the approximately $295.4 million theft that occurred on April 1: about $9.2 million in funds involved in the case has now been frozen, but recovery still requires going through law enforcement procedures. The stolen funds were bridged to Ethereum, with about 130,259 ETH distributed across four wallets, of which about 107,165 ETH held by three wallets has not yet moved; another wallet transferred about 23,094 ETH to Tornado Cash on July 23. Mandiant identified the attacker as UNC6862, a threat group linked to North Korea. The foundation said recovered funds will go into the DFX compensation pool, and it has launched a public bounty program with Bybit offering a 10% reward for successfully recovered funds; follow-up arrangements for the DRIFT token are still being evaluated.
