Ledger CEO Challenges Former Mt. Gox CEO Over Security Claims

Pascal Gauthier, the CEO of Ledger, has publicly responded to Mark Karpelès, the former CEO of Mt. Gox, regarding concerns about the security risks associated with hardware implants. Gauthier emphasized that Ledger has consistently prioritized user protection and urged Karpelès to base his comments on factual information rather than speculation. He acknowledged the complexities involved in security work but criticized Karpelès for his approach, remarking, "Come on, you're not some white knight, be realistic."

Karpelès had previously accused Ledger of potentially evading over $90 million in losses by failing to disclose security issues in a timely manner. He expressed dissatisfaction with Ledger's communication strategy, which he described as merely publishing a discreet article on Ledger Academy, rather than addressing the concerns more directly. Karpelès also questioned Ledger's vigilance in monitoring the production of advanced implant devices, raising alarms about the implications for user safety.
