Nectar Group Secures $5 Million Seed Funding for HoneyB Bitcoin Yield Platform
Nectar Group has successfully raised $5 million in seed funding for its upcoming Bitcoin income platform, HoneyB, which aims to provide institutions with a way to earn yield on their native Bitcoin holdings. This funding round values the startup at $30 million as of October 20, 2026. HoneyB is designed specifically for institutional investors who hold significant amounts of Bitcoin that are currently not generating any returns.
The platform's innovative approach allows institutions to use their Bitcoin as collateral to borrow stablecoins without the need to wrap or bridge their assets, thus maintaining custody. The borrowed stablecoins will be invested in tokenized real-world asset strategies, which are expected to yield gross annualized returns of approximately 12%. However, the actual net yield will depend on various factors, including borrowing costs.
HoneyB is built with institutional needs in mind, utilizing tri-party custodial accounts to ensure secure management of collateral. The platform has partnered with Arch Network for Bitcoin-native functionality and Chintai for regulatory compliance. Although currently in the pre-launch phase with no live token or product metrics available, HoneyB aims to address common concerns among institutional investors regarding Bitcoin yield generation.
