Personal AI assistant Tab emerges from stealth with a $300 million valuation
PANews reported on October 8, citing TechCrunch, that personal AI assistant startup Tab announced on Tuesday that it has officially emerged from stealth with a valuation of $300 million (the company did not disclose the specific funding amount). Investors include SV Angel, Valar Ventures, and American Spirit. Tab was founded earlier this year by Brennan Erbz, Stafford Schlitt, and Ammar Amdani. Users can send text commands via iMessage or WhatsApp to complete everyday tasks such as ordering groceries, booking travel, and picking out gifts. The assistant has its own phone number, computer, and wallet. Amdani said the company currently relies mainly on word-of-mouth growth and plans to launch new products soon. Tab emphasized that user data is not used to train AI, that bank card information is stored in a vault it cannot view, and that irreversible actions must be confirmed by the user.
