Vitalik Buterin Unveils Ethereum's Vision for 2030

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has announced an ambitious long-term roadmap titled Streamlining Ethereum, which aims to transform the platform into a universal computing layer by 2030. This vision entails a significant restructuring of the Ethereum protocol over the next three to four years, moving beyond its current function as a blockchain ledger.

Key components of the proposed transformation include increasing transaction throughput by approximately 1000 times and implementing zero-knowledge proofs to enhance privacy and address potential threats from quantum computing. By 2030, the Ethereum network is expected to support 2TB of traditional dynamic state data and an additional 100TB of scalable storage, facilitating improved state separation and optimization.

The roadmap envisions Ethereum as a robust infrastructure driven by cryptographic validation, with applications spanning various sectors, including finance and social systems. While the majority of developers are in favor of this plan, some express concerns regarding the feasibility of the proposed timeline for implementation.
