XRP Trades Flat: What’s Next for Ripple’s Altcoin in September?

Ripple’s native token XRP is trading flat on Thursday, with little to no price action on the charts. Prices are hovering around the $1.30 level and saw a brief recovery after falling to $1.25, after the Clarity Act failed to move forward because it did not receive procedural votes in the Senate. Bitcoin also fell to the $76,000 zone from a weekly high of $78,000 after the development. The broader cryptocurrency market remains flat this week, with not many viable options to make a profit.

Can XRP Surge in September?

Leading on-chain metrics and price prediction firm CoinCodex has painted a neutral picture for Ripple’s XRP for September 2026. According to the price prediction, the leading altcoin could reach a high of $1.37 by the end of this month. That’s an uptick and return on investment (ROI) of approximately 5.5% from its current price. Therefore, an investment of $1,000 can turn into $1,050 if the price prediction turns out to be accurate.

However, despite the forecast projecting that XRP could remain in the green, the returns are not profit-making-worthy. A 7-cent rise quickly gets eaten up by trading platform fees that further reduce the profit numbers. Selling here would be as good as breaking even with just a few dollars in profit. Therefore, trading XRP this month comes with a risk of investments being flat. The broader market is already under pressure, with oil prices reaching $108 per barrel.

If oil prices continue to rise, Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and other cryptocurrencies will begin facing macroeconomic pressures stemming from the global turmoil. In conclusion, taking an entry position in XRP in this scenario is nothing but a risky affair.
