      BOJ Rate Hike Fails to Buoy Yen Even As Ueda Signals More Moves

      The Bank of Japan raised its benchmark interest rate and signaled its intention to remain in the fast lane for further moves as Governor Kazuo Ueda declared the bank was entering a new stage of policymaking in which it needs to focus on stabilizing inflation. The yen fell anyway, as traders weren’t convinced.
