Key Takeaways
- Salesforce shares declined more than 3% Thursday following the company’s investor day presentation despite positive analyst commentary
- The enterprise software giant maintained its $63 billion revenue target for fiscal year 2030 while declining to provide fiscal 2028 projections

- Agentforce’s leading 100 clients delivered 2x their annual recurring revenue in 18 months; premium subscription ARR exceeded $1 billion
- Consensus analyst outlook stands at Moderate Buy with a mean target of $272.54, suggesting approximately 12% potential gains
Shares of Salesforce (CRM) tumbled over 3% during Thursday’s trading session, hovering between $242 and $245, despite numerous Wall Street analysts upgrading their price projections after the company’s annual Dreamforce gathering and investor presentation.
The selloff occurred after the cloud computing leader adjusted its fiscal 2027 revenue projection only to the upper boundary of its existing forecast range. Market participants had anticipated a more substantial increase.
The company stood by its fiscal 2030 revenue objective of exceeding $63 billion. Leadership indicated that organic expansion remains positioned to accelerate during the latter half of fiscal 2027 and into subsequent periods. No official fiscal 2028 guidance was provided during the event.
The investor presentation also showcased Koa, the company’s inaugural reasoning AI model purpose-built for customer relationship management applications. This technology was created through a strategic collaboration with Nvidia.
Multiple Wall Street research firms emerged with heightened optimism rather than concerns. Stifel analyst J. Parker Lane increased his price objective from $275 to $300, pointing to unprecedented deal activity in the sales funnel. Canaccord Genuity’s David Hynes similarly elevated his target to $300, matched by Guggenheim’s John Difucci. Freedom Capital’s Egor Tolmachev upgraded his forecast from $230 to $295.
Agentforce Demonstrating Strong Traction
J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee preserved an Overweight recommendation with a $265 price projection. He indicated the investor day strengthened his conviction that Salesforce can expand revenue from its current client portfolio through premium product upgrades and Agentforce implementation.
The company’s leading 100 Agentforce clients ranked by weekly active engagement produced over 2x their annual recurring revenue in the first 18 months following deployment. Annual recurring revenue from premium licenses surpassed $1 billion. The premium subscription proportion increased to 5% during fiscal Q2 2027, compared to merely 1% in fiscal Q1 2025.
Transitions to Agentforce 1 Edition come with a 60% to 80% uplift in average transaction values. J.P. Morgan projects that each 1% of the client base migrating to premium subscription levels translates to approximately $100 million in additional revenue potential.
Nine among the ten largest AI companies utilize Salesforce platforms. Annual recurring revenue from this segment surged 435% on a year-over-year basis. CRM license expansion increased 62% among these enterprise customers, while Slack penetration reached 100%.
Wall Street Sentiment Stays Positive
Guggenheim’s Difucci observed that Salesforce seems to be adopting a more strategic methodology regarding product development and pricing structures, although both remain in nascent phases of market penetration. He emphasized that widespread enterprise implementation has yet to materialize.
Stifel’s Lane mentioned that discussions with industry sources indicate customer appetite continues to be robust.
Citigroup maintained its Neutral stance while lifting its projection to $263. RBC Capital retained its Sector Perform classification with a $250 objective.
The aggregate Wall Street perspective reflects a Moderate Buy recommendation, derived from 28 Buy ratings, 10 Hold ratings, and one Sell rating issued over the previous three months. The mean price target of $272.54 suggests approximately 12% appreciation from present trading levels.
CRM represents a significant component in multiple technology-oriented ETFs, accounting for 6.60% of IGV, 6.11% of FDN, and 6.53% of PKW.
