Gold Prices Approach $4,400 Amid Market Stabilization
Gold prices have shown a notable recovery over the past two days, nearing the $4,400 mark. This rebound is attributed to a more stable environment in broader markets, with oil prices easing and 10-year U.S. Treasury yields dropping below 5%. These factors have alleviated some of the pressure on gold that arose following recent volatility linked to the U.S. Federal Reserve's decisions.
Earlier this week, gold was at risk of breaking below key support levels around $4,290 to $4,310. However, buyers intervened after prices briefly dipped to approximately $4,240, which coincides with a significant Fibonacci retracement level. This intervention has allowed gold to regain ground above the $4,328 level, which is also the 50% Fibonacci retracement point, and above the 100-day moving average of $4,321, shifting the daily chart's bias to a more neutral stance.
Despite this positive momentum, gold is still navigating a period of consolidation after a decline from nearly $4,700 in August. The immediate focus for buyers will be the $4,400 to $4,415 range, which represents a critical test for any further upward movement. However, the 200-day moving average at around $4,541 poses a more significant challenge for gold's recovery. Traders are advised to remain cautious, as a drop below $4,241 could signal further declines towards the $4,000 mark.
