Gold Prices Rise Amid Anticipation of Trump Meeting with Gulf Leaders

Gold prices have continued to rise following a market adjustment to the recent Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decision, which indicated only one more anticipated interest rate hike. This suggests a cautious approach to monetary tightening, which has contributed to the upward momentum in gold prices. Market observers are particularly focused on geopolitical developments in the Middle East, where rising oil prices and high bond yields may pressure U.S. President Donald Trump to seek a resolution to the ongoing conflict with Iran.

On Tuesday, Trump is scheduled to meet with Gulf leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This meeting is expected to address the next steps in the Iran conflict, with the Iranian delegation also set to participate. A potential de-escalation in tensions could lead to a decrease in oil prices, alleviating inflation concerns and reducing the likelihood of aggressive interest rate hikes, which would further support gold prices.

Technical analysis indicates that gold (XAU/USD) has rebounded from a significant support level of 4,300, with buyers now targeting a swing high around 4,510. Should the price reach this level, sellers may emerge, while a breakthrough could lead to further bullish momentum towards 4,700. Upcoming economic data, including the Flash U.S. Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) scheduled for Wednesday, will also play a crucial role in shaping market expectations and gold's trajectory.
