EUR/USD FX Option Expiries Set for October 7 Amidst Firm Dollar

On October 7, notable expiry levels for EUR/USD options are positioned between 1.1250 and 1.1270, with the closest expiries located less than 30 pips from the current spot price. The expiries at 1.1250-55 may exert a pull on price action as they sit just above the 100-hour moving average of 1.1243, potentially acting as a ceiling for any upward movements in the currency pair.

Currently, EUR/USD is trending lower, influenced by a stronger U.S. dollar, which is supported by rising Treasury yields. The 10-year Treasury yields have remained above 5.30%, approaching multi-decade highs, which is contributing to the dollar's strength. The expiry level at 1.1270 is expected to have limited impact unless there is a significant bounce in EUR/USD, as the dollar's firmness is likely to dominate trading sentiment.

As the day progresses, the bond market is anticipated to play a crucial role in determining dollar price action, overshadowing the influence of the option expiries. While the expiries may still hold some relevance, their impact is expected to be secondary, particularly if Treasury yields continue to seek breakout moves this week.
