Goldman Sachs Projects AI Infrastructure Spending to Reach $1.2 Trillion by 2027

Goldman Sachs has projected that the five largest U.S. hyperscalers—Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Oracle, and Meta—will increase their spending on artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure by 54%, reaching $1.2 trillion by 2027. This forecast exceeds current Wall Street estimates and reflects the growing demand for AI capabilities among major technology firms.

In 2026, these companies are anticipated to spend approximately $800 billion on AI infrastructure. Goldman Sachs highlights that to achieve profitability, hyperscalers will need to generate around $300 billion in annual AI revenue. However, the firm also cautions that rising financing requirements and potential infrastructure limitations could hinder the pace of future spending growth.
