NEAR Protocol (NEAR) Surges 8% Following $70M TVL Achievement and Airdrop Launch
Key Highlights
- NEAR Protocol surged 7.59% to reach $2.51 following the achievement of the “NEAR@3.33” TVL target
- Total value locked in Confidential Intents exceeded $70M, representing 129.3% growth over three months
- A distribution of 333,333 NEAR@3.33 tokens has been initiated for qualifying participants
- Token unlocking occurs at 1:1 when NEAR’s VWAP maintains $3.33 or higher for three consecutive days
- NEAR ranks among the first prominent layer-1 networks implementing partial quantum resistance
The NEAR Protocol token experienced a 7.59% increase, reaching $2.51, following the Confidential Intents platform surpassing $70 million in total value locked. This achievement activated a predetermined token distribution through the “NEAR@3.33” Milestone Incentive Program.

The total value locked experienced substantial expansion of 129.3% during the previous 90-day period, arriving at $70.79 million. Data from DeFiLlama indicates that NEAR Intents’ aggregate TVL currently stands at roughly $137.8 million.
The token distribution allocates 333,333 locked NEAR@3.33 tokens among qualified participants. Eligibility criteria require maintaining a balance exceeding $100 and executing a minimum of one confidential swap. Participants holding larger balances and demonstrating more frequent swap activity receive proportionally greater distributions.
NEAR@3.33 tokens remain non-transferable initially. Conversion to standard NEAR tokens occurs at a 1:1 exchange rate exclusively when NEAR’s volume-weighted average price sustains $3.33 or higher across three consecutive days. This mechanism aims to minimize wash trading activities and discourage speculative short-term behavior.
Cryptocurrency analyst CryptoBullet provided technical analysis of the token’s chart formation, observing that NEAR appears to be developing an inverse Head & Shoulders pattern beginning in March 2025. The analyst suggested the accumulation phase below $3 might establish conditions for a potential breakout, though projections indicate the complete pattern formation could extend into 2027.
Understanding NEAR’s Confidential Finance Infrastructure
The Confidential Intents framework employs zero-knowledge proofs combined with selective disclosure mechanisms to maintain transaction privacy while ensuring public verifiability. This approach contrasts with conventional DeFi protocols where all trading activity and positions remain visible on the blockchain.
This privacy infrastructure shields participants from maximal extractable value (MEV) and front-running attacks by concealing position magnitudes and trading trajectories. According to Artemis data, approximately 40% of current NEAR development efforts concentrate on privacy features, identity solutions, and intent-based applications.
At present trading levels, NEAR maintains a position above the $2.44 Fibonacci support threshold. Upward momentum could challenge the $2.65 resistance level. Should the price fall beneath $2.44, potential downside targets include $2.25, with further declines possibly extending to $2.00.
Enterprise Applications Fueling Network Growth
The expansion in TVL stems from private decentralized exchange infrastructure, confidential lending protocols, and protected yield generation platforms. Investment funds, decentralized autonomous organizations, and institutional participants are demonstrating increasing interest, as confidential finance enables strategy privacy while maintaining regulatory compliance capabilities.
NEAR has established itself as among the initial prominent layer-1 blockchain networks to implement partial quantum-resistant technology, potentially enhancing its attractiveness to institutions prioritizing extended security horizons.
The Federal Reserve’s 25 basis point interest rate adjustment announced today may influence short-term price dynamics throughout cryptocurrency markets.
