NZDUSD Currency Pair Faces Key Support Test Amid Ongoing Downtrend

The NZDUSD currency pair is experiencing significant movement today, driven by a stronger US dollar and a weaker New Zealand dollar. Since reaching a high of 0.5985 on August 21, the pair has been on a downward trend, recently hitting a low of 0.5579 last Monday, which is just four pips above the November 2025 low of 0.5575. Following this decline, the price has fluctuated within a narrow range of less than 50 pips, indicating a temporary pause in selling activity, although this does not suggest a reversal of the overall trend.

Currently, the NZDUSD is trading around 0.5584, only five pips above last week's low. Traders are closely monitoring the support zone between 0.5575 and 0.5579, which is crucial for determining the next market direction. A break below this support could lead to further declines, with potential targets set at 0.55388, the 2024 low, and 0.5486, the April 8 low. Conversely, if the price rebounds, resistance levels are identified at approximately 0.5605 and the recent high near 0.5626–0.5627.

For buyers to regain control, they must defend the current support level and push above the resistance. A sustained move above the falling 100-hour moving average, currently near 0.5644, would signal a more favorable technical outlook. Until such a move occurs, the market remains in a broader downtrend, with sellers maintaining their dominance.
