Palantir (PLTR) Selects Nebius (NBIS) as Primary Sovereign AI Infrastructure Provider
Key Highlights
- Nebius has been designated as Palantir’s preferred partner for sovereign AI infrastructure solutions.
- Integration will place Nebius compute and inference capabilities directly within Palantir’s enterprise environment.
- Enterprise customers gain full control over compute resources, proprietary data, and AI models.
- Joint initiatives will accelerate AI capacity deployment, featuring modular data center solutions.
- Nebius shares rose 1.6% in premarket trading after the partnership announcement.
In a significant development for the AI infrastructure space, Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and Nebius Group (NBIS) have revealed a strategic collaboration designed to integrate Nebius’s AI-focused computing infrastructure into Palantir’s platform.
Following the September 8, 2026 announcement, Nebius shares climbed 1.6% during premarket hours.
The partnership establishes Nebius as Palantir’s go-to provider for sovereign AI infrastructure. Once the integration phase concludes, Nebius’s compute and inference endpoints will operate within Palantir’s secure enterprise framework.
This arrangement allows qualified Palantir clients to tap into Nebius’s cloud computing and inference systems directly, maintaining complete authority over their computational resources, proprietary information, and AI models while keeping sensitive operations within Palantir’s protected ecosystem.
Palantir’s co-founder and CEO, Alex Karp, commented: “Nebius’ compute infrastructure powers your ability to run your own AI models under conditions you control. Our ontology and their infrastructure will undergird the sovereignty our partners are demanding.”
Nebius’s founder and CEO, Arkady Volozh, stated: “Organizations need both the performance of large-scale AI infrastructure and control over their data and models. Together with Palantir, we are bringing this to commercial clients enabling them to run their optimized open models on trusted infrastructure.”
The collaboration creates a comprehensive solution: Palantir delivers the software platform while Nebius provides the underlying computational backbone. This integrated approach serves enterprise customers seeking both capabilities in a unified package.
Accelerating Infrastructure Deployment
Beyond the core integration, both organizations intend to collaborate on speeding up the deployment timeline for new computing resources available to Palantir’s client base.
Their strategy encompasses modular data center installations at locations with existing power infrastructure—a pragmatic approach that could significantly shorten the timeframe for delivering fresh AI capacity to customers.
For Nebius, this agreement creates a valuable distribution channel to generate revenue from its expanding GPU infrastructure through Palantir’s established enterprise customer network.
Understanding Sovereign AI in This Context
The concept of sovereign AI centers on enabling governments and heavily regulated entities to execute AI operations under rigorous geographic and security constraints, ensuring sensitive information remains within specified jurisdictions.
Palantir’s core business has long focused on serving precisely these types of organizations. Incorporating Nebius infrastructure into its offerings provides these clients with expanded computational resources while maintaining their stringent security requirements.
The agreement’s architecture ensures Palantir can deliver Nebius capacity to clients without requiring them to migrate away from Palantir’s platform. Instead, the infrastructure is seamlessly integrated into their existing environment.
Both organizations characterized the collaboration as a response to increasing demand from commercial enterprises seeking powerful, secure AI capabilities without sacrificing control over their data assets.
Nebius shares gained 1.6% in premarket trading on announcement day.
