Rackspace Technology (RXT) Stock Jumps 12% on NVIDIA Partnership and AI Infrastructure Launch
Key Highlights
- Shares of Rackspace Technology climbed 12.4% during pre-market hours on September 10, 2026
- The managed cloud services provider became a member of the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program, securing access to NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU architecture
- The company unveiled its Institutional Sovereign Pod, integrating NVIDIA Blackwell technology, Palantir Foundry, and AIP within a secure private cloud framework

- Pre-market trading saw the stock approach $3.641, though it remains significantly below its 52-week peak of $8.60
Shares of Rackspace Technology surged 12.4% during Thursday’s pre-market session following the company’s announcement that it has entered the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program. The stock hovered near $3.641 before the opening bell, continuing to trade well under its 52-week high of $8.60.
Rackspace Technology, Inc., RXT
Earlier in 2026, the stock had plunged to a 52-week low of $0.393, making this rally a significant reversal in trader sentiment.
Through this strategic alliance with NVIDIA, Rackspace gains the capability to deliver enterprise-grade computing powered by Blackwell GPUs to organizations operating under strict regulatory frameworks. These clients face constraints that prevent them from migrating sensitive workloads to standard public cloud platforms due to data sovereignty requirements.
CEO Gajen Kandiah articulated the company’s positioning: the critical question has evolved beyond which provider supplies the GPU hardware to who maintains full accountability for operating the entire infrastructure stack. Rackspace aims to fill that operational accountability gap.
The Institutional Sovereign Pod Solution
Central to this announcement is the launch of the Institutional Sovereign Pod. This integrated offering combines NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Blackwell GPU architecture with Palantir’s Foundry platform and AIP software, all deployed within a highly controlled private cloud environment managed by Rackspace.
This configuration addresses the needs of enterprises requiring production-ready AI capabilities without sacrificing governance protocols, data residency compliance, or security standards. The primary customer segments include defense contractors, banking institutions, and governmental organizations.
Sameer Kirtane, Palantir’s Head of US Commercial, emphasized that merging Palantir’s software capabilities with NVIDIA’s computational power and Rackspace’s managed infrastructure services provides enterprises with a robust platform for deploying AI systems into production while maintaining sovereignty over mission-critical operations.
Raj Mirpuri, NVIDIA’s VP of global AI clouds, noted that modern enterprises require complete AI infrastructure stacks capable of operating reliably at scale around the clock. Rackspace is positioning itself as the managed services provider delivering that continuous operational capability.
Details of the NVIDIA Cloud Partnership
Through its membership in the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program, Rackspace has secured competencies spanning Compute, Networking, Visualization, and NVIDIA Enterprise Software. This formal designation establishes the company’s credentialed position within NVIDIA’s partner ecosystem.
The partnership enables Rackspace to deploy and integrate NVIDIA’s complete infrastructure and software portfolio throughout the enterprise AI technology stack, with Rackspace serving as the sole accountable operator managing the production environment end-to-end.
Broader market conditions played no role in Thursday’s stock movement. Both the Nasdaq and S&P 500 showed minimal activity on the day, indicating that the RXT rally was entirely driven by the company’s strategic announcements rather than sector-wide momentum.
A recent insider transaction involving the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer was a routine “sell to cover” action executed solely for tax withholding obligations under a predetermined trading plan and does not reflect any bearish outlook from management.
Rackspace’s forward-deployed engineering teams will collaborate directly with enterprise clients to accelerate the transition from initial deployment to full-scale production, with ongoing managed services support continuing throughout the lifecycle.
Despite Thursday’s gains, the stock continues trading substantially below its 52-week high of $8.60, with pre-market activity indicating a price level near $3.641 as of Thursday morning.
