Chart of the Week: the long shadow of quantitative easing
Wall Street Economists Adjust Core PCE Forecasts Following CPI Data
Solana (SOL) Maintains $75 Support as ETF Momentum Continues for Seven Consecutive Weeks
Key Highlights
- Solana is currently trading near $75.27, maintaining position above crucial $74.50 support
- Spot SOL ETFs in the United States recorded $10.26 million in net inflows last week, continuing a seven-week positive streak
- Technical analysis reveals a falling wedge formation on the 4-hour timeframe, targeting $77.10 on breakout
- Momentum indicators show RSI hovering around neutral at 52, while MACD remains in bullish territory
- Closing below $73.64 on the daily chart could trigger a more significant correction
Solana maintains its position above the $75 threshold as both technical chart formations and institutional capital flows suggest measured bullish sentiment. At press time, SOL was changing hands at $75.27, recording approximately $2.27 billion in 24-hour trading volume with a market capitalization hovering around $43.86 billion. The digital asset experienced a modest decline of roughly 0.1% over the past day.

Following a 2.18% decline during the previous week, the price has established support along an upward-sloping trendline. SOL currently trades marginally below its 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), which stands at $75.48.
Market analyst Bluntz shared observations on X, characterizing the “strong pa on $SOL” while acknowledging the token’s “somewhat boring” price action, which he attributes to an ongoing accumulation phase. He highlighted a weekly bullish divergence that could be signaling a local bottom formation.
Seven Consecutive Weeks of Positive ETF Flows
Institutional interest in Solana has demonstrated consistent strength. Data from SoSoValue indicates that US-based spot SOL exchange-traded funds attracted $10.26 million in net inflows during the past week. This represents the strongest weekly performance since May 22 and extends the unbroken streak of positive inflows to seven weeks.

Analytics from CryptoQuant suggest a modestly bullish posture, with significant whale accumulation visible in spot order books while futures market activity shows signs of cooling. Additional on-chain indicators present a relatively neutral picture.
The 100-day EMA is positioned at $78.10, while the 200-day EMA resides higher at $88.69. These moving averages continue to function as resistance barriers, maintaining the broader price action within a consolidation range.
Technical Pattern Develops on Lower Timeframe
Analysts at Alpha Crypto Signal identified a falling wedge pattern emerging on Solana’s 4-hour chart on August 17. This formation features price action compressed between two converging descending trendlines—a technical structure frequently associated with upward breakouts.
SOL is currently trading around the middle Bollinger Band positioned at $74.50. The upper band is located at $77.10, while the lower band sits at $71.91.
The MACD histogram registers a reading of 0.10329, with the MACD line at 0.05374 and the signal line at -0.04955, indicating strengthening bullish momentum.
A decisive breakout above the wedge’s upper boundary, accompanied by robust volume expansion, would establish $77.10 as the initial resistance target. Conversely, losing the $74.50 support zone would compromise the constructive technical outlook and bring $71.91 into play.
Solana has not yet validated a breakout from this consolidation pattern. The coming trading sessions will prove critical in establishing the near-term directional bias.
