UK Employment Report Boosts Rate Hike Expectations for Bank of England

The UK employment report released during the European session showed stronger-than-expected results, leading to increased speculation about potential rate hikes by the Bank of England (BoE). The positive data has prompted analysts to adjust their forecasts ahead of the upcoming UK Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, which is anticipated to further influence rate expectations if core inflation figures are robust.

In Germany, the ZEW survey is expected to show a decline, with projections indicating a drop to 30.0 from 34.7 in the previous month. However, this data is not expected to significantly impact the European Central Bank's (ECB) policies, suggesting a muted market reaction.

In the American session, attention will turn to US housing starts and building permits data. Recent trends indicate that housing data has not been a major market mover, with the focus shifting towards artificial intelligence as a key growth driver. The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) housing market index recently fell to its lowest level since 2012, suggesting that today's housing figures may also come in lower than anticipated due to high mortgage rates.
