US Stock Indices Rise as Investors Focus on Economic Growth and Technology Spending

The S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite, and Nasdaq 100 indices are experiencing upward movement as investors respond to a combination of sustained economic growth and reduced urgency for a Federal Reserve interest rate hike. Current market sentiment reflects a less than 20% chance of a rate increase in October, following a weaker jobs report that alleviated immediate concerns about monetary tightening. Additionally, robust data from S&P Global indicates that business demand remains strong, further supporting investor confidence.

The Nasdaq Composite is currently trading up 0.66% at 27,368, surpassing its previous record closing level of 27,244.28. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 has also shown positive performance, trading up 0.50% at 30,959, having closed at a record high on the previous trading day. The S&P 500 is up 0.32% at 7,747.71, but faces overhead resistance that must be overcome to reach new all-time highs. Key resistance levels for the S&P 500 are between 7,771.48 and 7,816.70, while support remains near the 7,573.60 to 7,617.37 range.

Despite the positive momentum, challenges remain as Treasury yields remain elevated and inflation pressures persist. Investors are currently prioritizing growth and earnings outlooks, particularly in the technology sector, which is bolstered by ongoing investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure. The performance of major tech companies, including Nvidia, has also contributed to the market's upward trajectory. As the trading day progresses, the focus will be on whether the indices can maintain their gains and break through resistance levels.
