AI Trading Startup Catalyst Secures $30 Million in Seed Funding

Catalyst, an AI trading agent startup co-founded by Justin Zheng and Dylan Iskandar in 2025, has successfully completed a $30 million seed round of financing. The funding round was led by Sequoia Capital and included participation from several notable investors such as Jump Trading, Peak XV, Lux Capital, AntiFund, Coinbase, and Premji Invest.

The company aims to empower ordinary investors by enabling them to formulate and execute trading strategies through AI agents. Users can express their investment goals in natural language, which the AI agent then translates into actionable trading strategies. While the AI facilitates processes like asset selection, cost optimization, and trade execution, users must still confirm the final trades before they are executed.

Catalyst has recently completed a testing phase focused on high-frequency trading users, indicating its commitment to refining its technology for a competitive trading environment. This funding is expected to support the company's growth and further development of its AI-driven trading solutions.
