Analysis: Bitcoin fails to break September-end high in two attempts, retreats after nearing $87,000

PANews reported on October 6, citing CoinDesk, that Bitcoin rose to nearly $87,000 last week, just about $500 shy of the stage high of roughly $87,400 set in late September, before retreating under selling pressure.

Analysis noted that this rally extended the previous rebound, marking the second time within a week that BTC failed to break the late-September high. Earlier, lower-than-expected U.S. inflation data had pushed BTC to around $85,500, but it pulled back within hours. Weaker U.S. jobs data reduced pressure on the Federal Reserve to keep raising interest rates, providing support for risk assets. If Bitcoin closes above $87,000 on the daily chart, it could be an important signal that buyers are breaking through the late-September high.
