      Hong Kong Financial Secretary: Will submit amendment bill within this year to establish licensing regime for virtual asset trading and custody

      PANews, October 6 - According to a press release from the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, spoke at a policy briefing of the Legislative Council Panel on Financial Affairs regarding the policy measures of the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau under Hong Kong's first five-year plan, stating that an amendment bill will be submitted within this year to establish a licensing regime for virtual asset trading, custody, advisory and management services. In addition, Hong Kong's central clearing and settlement system for gold will officially commence operation in the first quarter of next year, and the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) will announce details of a new RMB-denominated, physically settled gold futures contract within this year.
