Bitcoin ETFs Smash Through Their Biggest Week in a Year

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew $2.39 billion in net inflows last week, their largest weekly total since October 2025, according to SoSoValue data. The surge surpassed the previous 2026 high of $1.92 billion recorded in August.

      Year-to-date Flows Turn Positive

The weekly haul pushed year-to-date net flows for the 11 U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs to roughly $926 million, Cointelegraph reported. That figure had sat deep in negative territory as recently as early July, when an outflow streak dragged the year-to-date deficit to approximately $5.55 billion. The recovery marks a roughly $6.5 billion swing in net positioning over fewer than three months. Inflows peaked near $1 billion on the opening session of the week before tapering as Bitcoin pulled back from above $87,100. Bitcoin traded around $83,116 at the time of the Cointelegraph report, down 1.6% over the prior 24 hours but still up 1.7% on the week, according to CoinGecko.

Sentiment Gauge Reflects Renewed Risk Appetite

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stood at 74, up from 70 a week earlier and firmly in greed territory, according to Alternative.me. The reading suggests that the ETF inflows are part of a broader shift in institutional and retail positioning, not an isolated spike.Spot Ether ETFs attracted roughly $690 million in net inflows during the same week, reversing about $140 million in outflows the prior week, while spot XRP ETFs added approximately $76 million, SoSoValue data showed.

A $6.5 billion Reversal in Under Three Months

The recovery amounts to a $6.5 billion swing in year-to-date net flows. Moving from a $5.55 billion year-to-date deficit to a $926 million surplus means buyers absorbed all of the selling pressure from the first half of the year and added nearly $1 billion on top.The previous 2026 weekly record of $1.92 billion in August lasted barely five weeks before being surpassed, suggesting that the pace of capital rotation into Bitcoin ETFs is accelerating rather than plateauing.

      Altcoin ETFs Attract Parallel Flows

The breadth of inflows across Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP ETFs suggests that capital is not simply rotating within crypto. Combined net flows across the three product categories exceeded $3.15 billion for the week.Bitcoin faces resistance near $87,100, the level that capped the most recent intraday rally. U.S. economic data this week, including the September jobs report and PCE inflation, will test whether ETF buyers maintain their pace or pause alongside broader risk assets.
