Bitcoin miner IREN reportedly reaches multi-year AI cloud computing agreement with Anthropic
PANews, October 12 – According to The Block, IREN, which has transformed from a Bitcoin miner into an AI infrastructure company, has reached a multi-year AI cloud computing cooperation agreement with Anthropic.
The report said the agreement was reached against the backdrop of IREN's continued shift of its infrastructure toward AI computing. However, it remains unclear whether this cooperation is the same agreement IREN disclosed in August of this year with an unnamed frontier AI lab.
IREN previously focused mainly on Bitcoin mining and in recent years has begun leveraging its data centers and computing resources to enter the AI cloud computing market.
