BlackRock Upgrades U.S. Treasuries Rating, Ending Nearly Six-Year Underweight Stance

PANews, October 14 — BlackRock Investment Institute announced in its latest report that it has upgraded its allocation rating on U.S. Treasuries and favors short-term bonds, citing that the potential investment returns have become more attractive after a sharp rise in Treasury yields.

BlackRock strategists said: "Higher yields, and the market's possibly overpricing of the Fed's tightening expectations, have created room for us to adjust our underweight stance on Treasuries." BlackRock has downgraded its rating on U.S. equities to neutral, while increasing its allocation to U.S. Treasuries across different maturities, though it still prefers short-term bonds overall.
