Ripple Integrates Privy Wallet Technology into XRP Ledger, AI Payments Surpass 14 Million Transactions
Ripple has integrated the wallet technology from Privy, a subsidiary of Stripe, into the XRP Ledger. This integration enables financial applications and AI agents to create accounts, manage cryptocurrency assets, and execute payments without requiring users to handle wallet software directly. Developers can now create wallets within their applications, facilitating transfers involving XRP, the US dollar stablecoin RLUSD issued by Ripple, and other network assets.
Privy manages the wallet infrastructure, easing the burden on application developers while allowing for the export of private keys or mnemonic phrases for migration to other platforms. This setup also permits AI agents or automated bots to hold funds and make automatic payments for online data and service fees, utilizing the x402 payment standard.
As of mid-October 2026, Ripple's network has processed over 13 million payments through the x402 standard, which constitutes approximately 25% of the ledger's activity. Data from the XRPL AI Hub, operated by payment infrastructure developer t54, indicates that total transactions have surpassed 14.3 million, involving 169 registered merchants. However, the total transfer amount remains relatively low, with cumulative payments recorded at around 6,991 XRP and 12,752 RLUSD, suggesting that most transactions are of minimal value. Ripple began offering related tools to developers in June 2026 and expanded support for payment standards developed by Stripe and payment blockchain Tempo in September 2026.
