On October 13, 2026, clients of Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) purchased $103.06 million worth of Bitcoin, accounting for nearly all of the net inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for that day. The total net inflow for the entire sector was reported at $109.8 million, leaving other funds to share approximately $6.7 million in net terms.
The significant inflow into FBTC coincided with Bitcoin trading above $86,000. This activity is closely monitored by firms such as SoSoValue and Farside Investors, which track the primary market activity for these funds. As a spot ETF, FBTC must hold actual Bitcoin to back the new shares created when investors contribute cash, highlighting the importance of these inflows.
October has seen fluctuating trends in ETF flows, with both inflows and outflows occurring throughout the month. On October 1, the sector recorded a net inflow of $102.7 million, led by BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). However, FBTC has a history of volatility, often experiencing significant shifts in inflow and outflow as market conditions change. Since the launch of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, the sector has accumulated approximately $57 billion in cumulative net inflows, with total assets surpassing $100 billion at times this year.
