Lonis Hamaili, the founder of Dework, has announced the launch of an AI hedge fund named Cambrian, which has secured approximately $70 million in seed funding. The fund has garnered support from notable investors, including the Japanese listed company Metaplanet and Jaan Tallinn, a co-founder of Skype.
In a statement on social media platform X, Hamaili emphasized the imminent arrival of general artificial intelligence. He pointed out that the current trading multiples for leading companies in the AI supply chain range from 1 to 5 times revenue and 5 to 15 times profit. Hamaili expressed concerns that the accelerated timeline for AI development could diminish competitive advantages in the software sector, while also noting that significant challenges remain in physical processes.
