Ledger asks distributors in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to suspend sales and remove devices from shelves

PANews reported on October 14 that hardware wallet maker Ledger posted on X that, during the investigation, it has asked distributors and resellers in Southeast Asia and the Hong Kong region to suspend sales of Ledger devices, including removing products from shelves, covering Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Ledger said the confirmed incidents are still limited to Southeast Asia, and no cases of stolen funds related to devices purchased in other regions have been verified; the investigation will continue to confirm at which stage of the distribution chain the devices were tampered with, and Ledger Donjon will analyze the devices received. There is currently no indication that Ledger's own infrastructure, systems, services or direct sales channels have been compromised. Previously, Ledger confirmed that devices sold by Southeast Asian distributor CryptoBilis had malicious components implanted.
