Jakub Rusiecki Joins Colosseum as Principal
Jakub Rusiecki, the founder of Social Graph Ventures, has announced his new role as Principal at Colosseum, a company focused on supporting early-stage projects in the cryptocurrency sector. Rusiecki shared this development on X, highlighting his initial meeting with Colosseum's co-founder Clay Robbins in January 2024 during the launch of the firm and its first fundraising efforts.
In his announcement, Rusiecki expressed admiration for Robbins and his team, including Matty Tay and Nate Levine, noting their successful transition from organizing Solana hackathons to establishing a company incubation pipeline. He emphasized that both he and Colosseum have consistently favored similar early-stage projects and aligned in their investment strategies over the past year.
Rusiecki pointed out a trend in the cryptocurrency venture capital landscape, where most funding is directed towards later-stage rounds. He remarked that many promising companies begin as small teams or hackathon projects, often emerging before traditional funds are ready to invest. Colosseum aims to bridge this gap by attracting developers through hackathons and providing support to founders from the idea stage through its accelerator program. Rusiecki will be involved in reviewing hackathon submissions and plans to participate in the upcoming London Breakpoint event.
