Doubao Phone Blocked by 155 Apps from Agent Operations, Including WeChat, Taobao, Alipay
PANews, October 15 – According to Caixin, ByteDance's Doubao Phone Assistant released a "list of apps refusing operations" on October 14. As of 16:00 that day, a total of 155 apps had declared that they refuse to allow the Doubao phone-side GUI agent to operate on them, including national-level apps such as WeChat, QQ, Taobao, Tmall, Meituan, and Alipay. Among them, 66 are "Tencent and related ecosystem apps" and 23 are "Alibaba and related ecosystem apps," with Pinduoduo, Xiaohongshu, Zhihu, DeepSeek, the three major telecom operators, and multiple bank apps such as China Merchants Bank and ICBC also on the list. QuestMobile data shows that among the top ten apps by user scale in the first half of the year, only Douyin and JD.com did not explicitly refuse.
Previously, Doubao Phone Assistant launched the Screen Automation Operation Declaration Protocol (SAEP), requiring developers to proactively declare their refusal during a 30-day public notice period starting September 14; those that did not refuse would by default allow the GUI agent to operate their apps. The ZTE Nubia NaviX Ultra, which comes with Doubao Phone Assistant, went on sale on September 16.
