US SEC Approves Cboe to List Binary Options Tied to Listed Companies' KPIs

PANews, October 15 – According to Bloomberg, the US SEC has approved the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) to list binary option contracts tied to the key performance indicators (KPIs) of listed companies, covering more than 100 metrics across 23 companies. Traders can place "yes/no" bets on metrics such as Coinbase trading volume, MARA's Bitcoin production, and Robinhood's customer count and revenue. Robinhood is expected to become the first broker to offer the product to retail investors and said it will waive fees through the end of the year. Cboe and Robinhood had previously planned to launch the related contracts in October, though the specific launch date has not yet been announced.
