ProveX's January ETH Inflows Linked to Richard Heart's Funds

On-chain analyst Specter has traced approximately 128,808 ETH, valued at around $413 million, that flowed into a wallet associated with ProveX, a project linked to Richard Heart, in early January 2026. The analysis indicates that a significant portion of these funds originated from wallets connected to Heart, raising questions about the nature of the fundraising campaign.

The ETH inflows occurred between January 5 and January 7, just before a scheduled rate increase for ProveX on January 8. Specter’s investigation revealed that the funds were withdrawn in increments of 100 ETH and passed through over 800 intermediary wallets before reaching the ProveX-linked address. Notably, Heart-associated wallets had previously deposited 112,987 ETH into Tornado Cash in November 2025, suggesting a closed-loop funding mechanism.

ProveX operates a public sacrifice model, where participants send ETH and other assets to designated addresses in hopes of receiving future token allocations, although no guarantees are made. The project's reliance on zero-knowledge proofs aims to facilitate trustless, non-custodial transactions. However, the use of a mixer like Tornado Cash complicates the transparency of the fundraising process, as it obscures the provenance of the funds.

As analysts estimate that around $400 million of the funds raised may be traced back to these recycled sources, concerns arise regarding the fairness of the allocation process. Contributors who provided genuine outside capital may find themselves competing for token allocations against funds that could have originated from Heart himself, potentially skewing the distribution of ProveX's supply.
