Triple-A hacker moves 4,970 ETH to Tornado Cash, worth about $12.4 million

PANews reported on October 10 that, according to monitoring by blockchain security firm Salus, the Triple-A attacker has moved 4,970 ETH (about $12.4 million) to Tornado Cash. The hacker stole assets from payment service provider Triple-A's own treasury in July this year, with publicly estimated losses of about $11.8 million. After bridging the funds to Ethereum and swapping them, the attacker split the funds into two intermediary addresses on September 6; on October 9, the funds were consolidated through a single wallet and deposited into Tornado Cash across 56 transactions — 49 transactions of 100 ETH and 7 transactions of 10 ETH — with one of the fund flows also containing an earlier mixing withdrawal. Triple-A previously stated that the incident did not affect customer funds.
