      Crypto ETFs Lost over $1.2B in Week: Bitcoin Funds Saw Biggest Outflows

      • US spot bitcoin ETFs saw $681.1 million in weekly outflows, with the biggest redemptions coming from Fidelity’s FBTC and Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB.
      • Ethereum ETFs posted $542.07 million in outflows — the second-largest weekly outflow total of 2026.

      From October 5 to October 9, 2026, US spot bitcoin ETFs recorded total outflows of $681.1 million, while Ethereum ETFs saw $542.07 million in outflows, according to SoSoValue data. Combined, the two segments lost more than $1.22 billion over five trading sessions. Among funds based on other cryptocurrencies, NEAR ETFs recorded the largest capital inflows, while Hong Kong bitcoin funds ended the week with outflows.

      Bitcoin ETFs Lost $681 Million in a Week

      Over five trading sessions, US spot bitcoin ETFs lost $681.1 million. Outflows were recorded on three of the five days, with the biggest losses coming on Wednesday and Thursday:

      • October 5 — outflow of $89.9 million
      • October 6 — inflow of $118.86 million
      • October 7 — outflow of $487.07 million
      • October 8 — outflow of $244.13 million
      • October 9 — inflow of $21.13 million

      The largest single-day outflow was recorded on October 7 — $487.07 million. Among individual funds, Fidelity’s FBTC saw the biggest capital loss at $380.36 million, followed by Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB with $207.21 million in outflows.

      Ethereum ETFs Lost $542 Million — the Second-Largest Outflow of the Year

      US spot Ethereum ETFs ended the week with $542.07 million in outflows. This was the second-largest weekly outflow total of 2026. The funds posted negative flows across all five trading sessions:

      • October 5 — outflows of $50.76 million
      • October 6 — outflows of $201.89 million
      • October 7 — outflows of $160.77 million
      • October 8 — outflows of $72.54 million
      • October 9 — outflows of $56.1 million

      Investors pulled the most funds on October 6 — $201.89 million. The bulk of the weekly outflows came from BlackRock’s ETHA, which lost $477.04 million.

      Among ETFs based on other cryptocurrencies, the largest inflows over the reporting period were recorded by NEAR ETFs — $35.99 million. Positive dynamics were also shown by:

      In the Hong Kong market, spot bitcoin ETFs recorded outflows of 23.21 BTC.
