Dark Moon, an artificial intelligence company, is reportedly working on a new model featuring between 50 trillion and 60 trillion parameters, as indicated by a report from Nomura Securities. This new model represents a significant increase in scale compared to the Kimi K3, which was launched in July 2026 and had fewer parameters. The development of this advanced model is currently hindered by a shortage of high-end training computing power, and details regarding its training progress remain unspecified.
In addition to the new model, Dark Moon is set to release Kimi K3.1 before mid-October 2026. This version aims to improve the AI's capability to handle long-duration tasks effectively. The development team plans to enhance the model further through post-training techniques, utilizing computer operation records and real-world task data to refine its performance.
