CryptoBilis Changes Ownership Amid Supply Chain Attack Investigation

CryptoBilis, a hardware wallet distributor based in Malaysia, has undergone a change in ownership as part of an investigation into a suspected supply chain attack involving Ledger devices. Company records indicate that Jiaming, an individual from Heilongjiang Province, China, acquired 100% of CryptoBilis shares on August 3. The former co-founder confirmed that the acquisition took place in March 2026, leading to the original shareholders stepping back from all operational roles.

Following the ownership transition, the founding team has expressed confusion regarding the company's current operations, stating they are no longer involved and have urged the new management to ensure transparency. The change in ownership has coincided with allegations that CryptoBilis may have been involved in a supply chain attack, where Ledger hardware wallets were reportedly compromised with hidden modules designed to steal recovery phrases.

In response to the ongoing investigation, CryptoBilis has temporarily halted all sales and shipments of its hardware wallets across its stores and online platforms in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Additionally, all offline stores have been closed until further notice as the company navigates the implications of the allegations and the recent ownership change.
