Pear VC Launches $333 Million Fifth Fund

Early-stage venture capital firm Pear VC has announced the launch of its fifth fund, Pear Fund V, with a total size of $333 million. The announcement was made by co-founder Pejman Nozad on October 14, 2026. This new fund increases Pear's managed assets to over $1.1 billion, reflecting the firm's growth and commitment to supporting early-stage startups.

In conjunction with the fund announcement, Pear VC appointed Arash Afrakhteh, Ajay Kamat, and Shravan Reddy as general partners. The firm, founded approximately 13 years ago in Palo Alto, California, has a history of backing successful companies such as DoorDash, Gusto, and Guardant Health, and has developed various initiatives including PearX, university programs, and a founder community.

Afrakhteh, who joined Pear in 2020, focuses on investments in enterprise and B2B sectors, particularly in artificial intelligence and cloud technologies. Kamat, a partner since 2015, has a background in consumer, fintech, and healthcare investments, having previously co-founded Wedding Party, which was acquired by Instacart. Pear VC continues to evaluate thousands of opportunities each year in the pre-seed and seed-stage business landscape.
