Blockchain.com Plans IPO Targeting Up to $6 Billion Valuation

Blockchain.com is planning an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States this year, aiming for a valuation between $4 billion and $6 billion. The crypto brokerage seeks to raise approximately $500 million through the listing, as it looks to capitalize on a recovering market for digital assets. The company has filed confidentially with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an offering of Class A ordinary shares, although the exact number of shares and pricing details remain undetermined.

In recent months, Blockchain.com has expanded its business beyond traditional crypto wallets and brokerage services. The company recently signed an agreement with the New York Stock Exchange to provide users access to tokenized U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) via a new digital trading platform. This partnership complements Blockchain.com's existing initiatives in tokenized equities, which have already been introduced in various markets, including Europe, Africa, and South America.

Blockchain.com has also ventured into derivatives and prediction markets, launching perpetual contracts linked to private AI companies and collaborating with Polymarket to integrate prediction markets into its app. The company has secured regulatory licenses in the Cayman Islands and Nigeria, and expanded its institutional payments services into Brazil, utilizing stablecoins for cross-border transactions.

Founded in 2011, Blockchain.com has evolved from providing Bitcoin network tracking tools to offering a wide range of crypto services. The renewed push for an IPO follows a period of profitability for the company over the past three years and comes as Bitcoin prices have rebounded, potentially opening new opportunities for crypto firms in public markets.
