CFTC to Host Inaugural AI Forum on Derivatives Market Transformation

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has announced the agenda for its first-ever "Frontier Forum," set to take place on October 28. This event, organized by the CFTC Innovation Working Group, will gather leaders in artificial intelligence to explore the potential impacts of AI on the U.S. derivatives market.

CFTC Chairman Mike Selig emphasized the transformative power of super intelligence on financial markets, stating that the forum will address how the derivatives market can adapt to the rise of machine intelligence. Key topics will include the effects of AI on price discovery and risk management within the market.

The forum will feature insights from representatives of companies such as Ornn, Architect, and Liquid Compute. Additionally, discussions will cover how traders' AI agents could function within the existing CFTC regulatory framework. This event marks the beginning of the "Frontier Forum" series initiated by the CFTC Innovation Working Group.
