NEAR Protocol Initiates Vote to Reduce Token Issuance Rate
NEAR Protocol has launched a vote to potentially reduce its token issuance rate to 1.6%. This proposal, known as HSP-029, aims to implement the change over a period of 24 months following a 90-day grace period.
In order for the proposed reduction to take effect, validators within the NEAR network must also approve a separate network upgrade. This step is crucial for the successful implementation of the new issuance rate, which is designed to enhance the economic sustainability of the NEAR ecosystem.
