DeepSeek API Platform Announces Service Outage and Compensation Plan
DeepSeek API Platform has issued an apology following a service outage that occurred on October 15, 2026. The outage lasted from 8:11 to 13:04 Beijing time, during which the API service was unavailable. In response to the disruption, the platform has initiated a comprehensive investigation to enhance service stability and eliminate vulnerabilities that could lead to similar issues in the future.
As part of its compensation plan, DeepSeek will fully refund the consumption amounts of user accounts for the period from October 8 to October 14, 2026. These refunds will be issued in the form of bonus credits, which will be automatically credited to users' accounts within seven days. The platform has stated that any API billing deductions will first be taken from these bonus credits, ensuring that users are not financially impacted by the outage.
