Ethena to Eliminate USDe Token Incentives and Inflation by Month's End

Ethena has announced that it will completely eliminate token incentives and inflation related to its stablecoin USDe by the end of September 2026. This decision marks a significant shift in the company's approach to managing its token economy, as it aims to stabilize the value of USDe without relying on additional subsidies.

Since the initial airdrop of USDe in early 2024, token incentives have already decreased by approximately 85%. The upcoming removal of these incentives is expected to further impact the dynamics of USDe, as the company transitions to a model that does not depend on new token inflation for future growth.

The move reflects a broader trend in the cryptocurrency market, where projects are increasingly focusing on sustainability and long-term viability rather than short-term incentives. Ethena's decision may influence other stablecoin projects as they navigate similar challenges in maintaining value and user trust.
