Ethereum Foundation Launches zkAPI for Privacy Payments

The Ethereum Foundation has officially launched zkAPI on the Ethereum mainnet, a new solution designed to facilitate privacy-focused payments for artificial intelligence and other API services. This initiative, co-authored by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, aims to enhance user privacy by enabling transactions that do not reveal the identity of the payer.

zkAPI allows users to make payments using pre-stored Ethereum (ETH) or USD Coin (USDC) through the implementation of zero-knowledge proofs. This technology ensures that service providers cannot link specific requests to the individuals making the payments, thereby enhancing confidentiality in transactions.

The introduction of zkAPI marks a significant advancement in the Ethereum ecosystem, particularly in the context of increasing demand for privacy solutions in digital transactions. As the use of AI and various API services continues to grow, zkAPI is positioned to provide a secure payment method that aligns with the privacy needs of users.
