U.S. SEC maps out crypto custody in new proposal that furthers its digital assets agenda
After 15.4 Years of Dormancy, an Address Moves 20.43 BTC Worth $1.7 Million
PANews reported on October 2 that, according to monitoring by Bitcoin News, a wallet that had been inactive since May 2011 moved 20.43 BTC worth $1.7 million, ending 15.4 years of dormancy. Arkham tracking shows that these BTC came from payouts of roughly $3 to $4 from Braiins (Slush Pool).
The BTC obtained by the wallet on May 1 and May 8, 2011 has been split and moved to SegWit addresses, with a fee of less than $1, and has not yet been moved to any known exchange deposit address. Earlier transfers from the same wallet have also been labeled as related to Mt. Gox and Silk Road, both of which were commonly used channels in 2011.
The Mt. Gox trustee currently still holds about 34,500 BTC, and the deadline for creditors to file claims is October 31, 2026.
