Hewlett Packard Enterprise Shares Rise 9% Amid AI Hardware Surge

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) experienced a significant increase in its stock price, rising 9.02% to $61.64 on September 17, 2026. This surge was part of a broader rally in the AI server and hardware sector, which also saw Super Micro Computer gain 6.08% and Dell Technologies increase by 3.36%. Notably, this upward movement occurred without any specific news from the companies involved, indicating a strong investor interest in AI infrastructure.

The rally follows a trend that began earlier in the week, characterized by gains in memory chip and semiconductor stocks. HPE has reported a remarkable 153% increase in its stock price year-to-date, while Dell has surged by 343%. HPE's fiscal Q3 2026 results highlighted record revenue of $12.2 billion, a 34% increase compared to the same quarter last year, prompting the company to raise its full-year growth guidance to between 34% and 37%.

HPE's Cloud & AI segment has become its largest revenue contributor, with networking orders for AI reaching unprecedented levels and a reported backlog of $700 million. Meanwhile, Dell has focused on expanding its AI server offerings, securing substantial orders from hyperscalers and enterprise clients. Super Micro Computer and Dell have also reported strong backlogs in their AI server segments, reflecting the growing demand for AI-related hardware.
